SkaDaMo day 19
If you get lost on your way back to Alpha Centauri you can always pull over and ask for directions and fill up your tank. I think these erm, boys just like the cozy atmosphere of greasy spoons and truck stops, oh and thier space craft happens to run on gravy.
Brother can you spare some gravy?
SkaDaMo Day 7
I know, three days in and I have already resorted to a bad pun. It’s been a long day, I hope to do better tomorrow. I won’t blame you if you punt this post.
mug shot, pun intended
Haven’t scratched out a post it for a while. Here’s two.
Listening for that high lonesome sound
John Snow? never heard of him
A friend of mine (from the days way back when we both worked at the local newspaper) started a drawing challenge to motivate herself to draw every day of November and last year she did it. She dubbed it “Sketch A Day Month” or “SkADaMo” This year she threw out the challenge to her artist pals so I thought I’d take a stab at it. I’m already a day behind so here’s 2 to start with. I hope to keep up, wish me luck!
Snape and an old friend
This is my second stab at drawing my FB friends he’s my nephew Nick Parks but his um “nickname” is Chester. He is a really creative musician and artist now living in Portland, Oregon.
This weeks theme for Illustration Friday is “ferocious” and I just happened to doodle this out today for my buddy Chris Zsarnay.
His name is Paul.
A couple of nights ago I watched two bio-pics back to back while I was working on the computer, one on Thomas Merton and one on R. Crumb. It made me aware very colorfully the two spheres of motivation -our upper and the lower selves. Here is a quick sketch of Merton I will add a Crumb sketch later.
Both these men were artists and both were very aware of their political surroundings but they took entirely different approaches to expressing themselves and commenting on the culture. Two very interesting people.
My friend Scott pointed out yesterday I had neglected to produce a Crumb sketch so I doodled this out today.
